i know money isn't everything…

but it helps make it in this world. I am thankful I at least have $30 bucks to my name. My next actual work is not until the end of january…ouch. I guess I will have to put my car note and rent on hold again…again.

its tough times for all out there. I can tell you that if I were a millionaire, I would give my money away to the ones that needed it and educate them on how to manage funds better…

today this is how i feel…

I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen

[Chorus]
Oh every time I close my eyes
I see my name in shining lights
A different city every night oh
I swear the world better prepare
For when I’m a billionaire

Yeah I would have a show like Oprah
I would be the host of, everyday Christmas
Give Travie a wish list
I’d probably pull an Angelina and Brad Pitt
And adopt a bunch of babies that ain’t never had sh-t
Give away a few Mercedes like here lady have this
And last but not least grant somebody their last wish
Its been a couple months since I’ve single so
You can call me Travie Claus minus the Ho Ho
Get it, hehe, I’d probably visit where Katrina hit
And damn sure do a lot more than FEMA did
Yeah can’t forget about me stupid
Everywhere I go Imma have my own theme music

[Chorus]

Oh oooh oh oooh for when I’m a Billionaire
Oh oooh oh oooh for when I’m a Billionaire

[Travis "Travie" McCoy]
I’ll be playing basketball with the President
Dunking on his delegates
Then I’ll compliment him on his political etiquette
Toss a couple milli in the air just for the heck of it
But keep the fives, twentys (?) completely separate
And yeah I’ll be in a whole new tax bracket
We in recession but let me take a crack at it
I’ll probably take whatevers left and just split it up
So everybody that I love can have a couple bucks
And not a single tummy around me would know what hungry was
Eating good sleeping soundly
I know we all have a similar dream
Go in your pocket pull out your wallet
And put it in the air and sing

the truth is…

I know I should be embracing my diversity. When I say diversity, I mean the fact that I love everything. Catch me on a certain day and I love photography and that is my thing for the moment. Another day, it may be listening to and sharing music with my friends and family. Other days I want to ride my bike and have a cup of coffee somewhere and meet someone new and other days I want to share my immense love of technology and help people get connected.

You see this is a problem in todays society because EVERYONE tells me that I need to find my passion and do that. You can see the dilemma that exists. I am not a one type of thing person. I am into multiple things. It makes it hard to focus my energy and life when I cant narrow it down to one thing. I see all these people that find their niche and follow it with their hearts and souls and I have to be honest, It makes my soul envious. “Why can’t I do that? Why can’t I find that one thing?”

I remember when I went to church and read the bible all the freaking time, I remember the one of many sayings that inspired me and it was:

“You shall know the truth and it will set you free,”

I know the truth and the truth is that my palet is too big to use just one color. I have multiple colors that enhance my life and make me the flavor that I am. I am not sure if that is a blessing or a curse. I know the truth and it sets me free and binds my soul with chains on a daily basis. This is my life and this is my curse. I am thankful for all my friends and all the input that you guys give me. I am only human and will continue to struggle with this on a daily, hourly, minutely basis.

Until next time…

San Luis Rey loop by chadbordes at Garmin Connect – Details.

This  one goes out to the Melders and Clarks who are somewhere around Sedona right now.  John, Jane, and Maddie as well as Jeff, Laurie, Peyton and Emma.

Sometimes when you go out for a run, ride or even in your car, the headwinds of life come at you with relentless force.  This was definitely the case today.  We had a little storm blow in yesterday evening and the winds from the storm were blowing on shore today. Needless to say it was relentless on my ride out.

I started thinking about this headwind while on my ride that most of the time while on my rides, if there is a headwind, i fight it with a vengeance.  I always try to one up the wind and put in a stronger effort than what the wind gives back.  However, today, I felt like the wind was slowing me down for a reason, so that I would take notice.  Most of the time, I am so busy battling the headwind, that I miss the scenery.  Today, I embraced it and slowed my pace down.  It was truly beautiful and there were no clouds to boot, so everything was in full color.  I remember the ocean as blue as I can ever remember seeing it.  The waves were washing the shore and the whites of the waves made for a beautiful contrast between the land and the blue sea.

So maybe the next time you are battling a headwind, try embracing it, whatever that wind may be.

Until next time…

Its offiicially time to quit…

I have to give up the hooch!

I have realized that my motto used to be live the cleanest and most present lifestyle possible. Somewhere along the way, I decided to give in and throw that away. It could have been peer pressure or it could have been weakness on my part. The reality is that I take full responsibility for my choices.

This weekend, my cousin and I threw down like we were in college all over again. I drank more in two days than in an entire year. Redbull and vodka are great, just not in college level quantities. Hear me out, Im not stopping because of my age. Age has nothing to do with it. Matter of fact, if you take care of yourself and eat right and work out, you maintain fitness levels throughout and decrease the oxidative process (something which drinking does the exact opposite of).

I am quitting the hooch because, I realize it clouds my head. I came home yesterday and slept from 4pm until 5:30 this morning. I am still in a fog and feel like I have been on a ship for 14 years. To me its just not worth it

Im going back to soda water with lime and exercise and great food. I start today with a run and then a quick 30-40 minute workout at the gym and I begin the reformative process all over again. After all, if we don’t take care of ourselves, Who will?

Until next time…

Have to love great Humor

Three Ladies in a Sauna

THREE WOMEN, TWO YOUNGER, AND ONE SENIOR CITIZEN, WERE SITTING NAKED IN
A SAUNA.

SUDDENLY THERE WAS A BEEPING SOUND. THE YOUNG WOMAN PRESSED HER
FOREARM AND THE BEEP STOPPED.

THE OTHERS LOOKED AT HER QUESTIONINGLY. ‘THAT WAS MY PAGER,’ SHE SAID.
I HAVE A MICROCHIP UNDER THE SKIN OF MY ARM.

A FEW MINUTES LATER A PHONE RANG. THE SECOND YOUNG WOMAN LIFTED HER
PALM TO HER EAR..

WHEN SHE FINISHED, SHE EXPLAINED, ‘THAT WAS MY MOBILE PHONE. I HAVE A
MICROCHIP IN MY HAND.’

THE OLDER WOMAN FELT VERY LOW-TECH. NOT TO BE OUT DONE, SHE DECIDED
SHE HAD TO DO SOMETHING JUST AS IMPRESSIVE. SHE STEPPED OUT OF THE
SAUNA AND WENT TO THE BATHROOM…

SHE RETURNED WITH A PIECE OF TOILET PAPER HANGING FROM HER REAR END.

THE OTHERS RAISED THEIR EYEBROWS AND STARED AT HER.

THE OLDER WOMAN FINALLY SAID……….WELL, WILL YOU LOOK AT
THAT……I’M GETTING A FAX

Day 6: Harrisonburg, VA to Charlottesville and then Reston, VA

So today, I slept in, 630. I know, I am such a slacker. Marlin woke up with me and informed me that he needed to go to the bathroom first since he was the older and wiser of us. I agreed and got dressed and walked him around til he did his business. After that I headed to Mickey D’s for some coffee and an egg mcmuffin. I had at least an hour drive ahead of me to get to Nate and Chelsea’s. The quick snack and coffee were good and it kept me awake for the drive, along with some great music.

Upon arriving to Chelseas, I was greeted by a shoe-less Chelsea whose tootsies were getting cold. She invited me up as she ran up the steps in her spry and cute little spring step she has. She showed me the apartment and walked me out to her porch where we sat in the sun. Nate came out and greeted me and was off to the store to get some groceries for breakfast. It wasn’t long that I was greeted by the ever so polite Cyrus. Cyrus is one of the cutest kids I have ever laid eyes on. Not only that, but his manners and the way he speaks so intelligently, make me want to kidnap him.

Cute Cyrus

Nate and Chelsea worked in the kitchen to prepare a fabulous breakfast of eggs, croissants, fresh fruit and cheese as well as some luke warm coffee (Chelsea will get this). After breakfast we decided to go downtown and check out the scenery. The downtown is interesting as it is an outdoor mall and one of the last (original ones) still standing. We walked around a bit and then decided to head up to Carter mountain to pick apples and check out the view. Cyrus narrated the whole time and even commented on Marlins stinky breath.

The Views from Carter mountain were magnificent. You can see pretty much all of Charlottesville and surrounding cities. We took the mini bus up the hill and the driver dropped us off at the fiji apple section. Cyrus was happy to pick my apple for me. It was the sweetest, best apple I have ever tasted in my life. I thanked Cyrus for picking out such a winner and he said, “No problem” Again, I want to kidnap him and give him a growth stunting pill.

View from Carter Hill

After carter hill we decided to head back and forego TJ’s house (Thomas Jeffereson) as it was getting late and I still had 100+ miles to drive to reunite Marlin with his owner. After saying our goodbyes and sharing some incredible music with Nate and Chelsea, Marlin and i hit the road. We took a back road (15) and special thanks to Chelsea for that gorgeous recommendation. We arrived at Marlins new address at 6:15 and by 6:45 he was pretty much done. Marlin’s mom and I grabbed some dinner and called it a night at about 9:00. In all it was a fantastic drive and if given the opportunity to do it again, I most certainly would.

Sky on fire

Marlin at home…

Until next time…

Day 5-Nashville, TN to Harrisonburg, VA

So today started off good. I woke up at 5:30 am and said goodbye to my great friend Ann and the two pups, Lizzy and Winston. FYI, Lizzy is the cutest thing I have ever seen. They all said goodbye and I hopped over to the nearest Waffled house to grab a cheese omelet with toast and coffee. Marlin and I were on the road by 6:30 at the latest.

I was going to try and drive the whole way to Reston but decided to stop about 2 hours out so that I could visit with my friend Chelsea, her husband, Nate and the two boys forrest and Cyrus. I picked Harrisonburg since they had a remodeled motel 6. Along the way, I stopped at a rest stop and played with Marlin. He needed the exercise and I pretty much wore him out.

Marlin Exhausted after playing

The Park where Marlin got tired

We arrived safely at Harrisonburg and got checked in by the nicest lady on the face of the planet. She had been having a bad day but told me I was the sweetest person she had dealt with all day. That made me happy. Marlin and I ventured to Outback where I had an amazing potato soup with a house salad followed by an incredible pasta dish with shrimp. Great ending to a great day. Upon arriving back to the hotel, I caught up on emails and watched Marlin fall asleep

Gorgeous sky as the sun set
